Thanks Gloria,

You seemed to have done your homework before you settled. Are you out there full time or do you come home after a few months. I think that what we will be doing. We will defo visit there and other areas. Im mindful now of the underbuilds and flood damage. So will more questions for the state agen...

...ts when  it comes.

Kind regards

Ian

Hi ian

We live here fulltime, but do go back to  UK for work (but not just now) hubby not retired  yet.. I retired from the NHS and took a year off, got board when hubby away for a month at a time.....so went into care work....at the minute were both hete.

Villa looks amazing... would mind taking a view myself..lol.....we have several friends on D (it seems the villa is on this section) and they all love it.... come over take a good look and then dicide which area is best for you and you alone.... you will need a car on camposol anyway unless you never intend going anywhere!  Spain is a vast country and I am sure you will want to see it... other information please dont hesitate to PM me ...I will help if I can...

Do your homework...  before you  come out,...make a list of all question you think you need to ask, and remember you will need 12/15% for taxes on top of purchase price plus all associated cost with buying a property...use all estate agents on here... rent (on here ) if you can...another world properties....(Vinny ) do rentals on camposol and other areas...

Good luck.

If you are retiring ..I take it it's just two of you so why 5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / 2 kitchens / 600 plot ... swimming pool sounds good I have one myself 9x4 MTRS it will cost you approximately €2,000 per year to maintain it .. including the electric / water / chemicals ..if you clean it yourself you will save around €800 per year ...I have a pool maintenance man to do ours..we have a 3 bed 3 bathroom Detached Neptuno on a 300 MTR plot that we bought 13 year's back I am now 64 and find it's just and has always been to big for our requirements .

I think a pool is a must.......but wonder about the time required to keep such a big house clean....might not leave much time to enjoy the pool and all the wonderful things one should be enjoying in their retirement in Spain.......

Ideally we were looking for a 3 bedroom but saw this villa and the decor and furniture inside and out were just perfect .

Thats the difference when staying all year round rather than just on hols  .the bigger the plot you can afford the more things that keep you occupied . You cant sit in sun all day but can potter around garden weeding ,tend to pool, etc. Also the smaller the plot the more squashed you may feel, as lots more villas in your street.

A bigger villa gives you more scope for family visiting ,less overlooked , maybe build a bar ,outdoor kitchen.

If your not a drinker , then d could be your answer. Bigger,  cheaper, you will be out and about anyway so do your shopping then. Try not to buy near hol homes, usually smaller villas as there not all like f.flyer and have their pool maintained

Which are a breeding ground for mozzies

Gd luck

If....so that's why you always insisted people could live on a state pension....you had me giving you my cost of outgoing and couldn't even be bothered to reply....if you have such a big plot to big (your words not mine) plus the fact you dont LIVE here......also why do you question why they want 5 bedrooms etc.! Its absolutely NONE of your business...your attitude isn't warrented neither is your negativity ..

Ian.... not even the more cantankerous posters 😃 on here could argue with you on how the villa presents, looks an ideal spot for retirement..... good luck with it all....

Why oh Why do some individuals resort to slanging each other off, when their opinions are not in accord. Every one is entitled to an opinion and are giving it, as advice to a question asked.  Opinions will depend on the individuals own circumstances and experiences, so will differ. We need to accept that and not reduce this brilliant site into open warfare.
