Just to close off the thread I started.

I emailed Mazarron Town Hall & received a reply in a couple of days.

They confirmed the information given by others on here & what I had found out myself.

Translated copy of their email below..................


Good morning

I inform you that if you are not a resident of Spain, you cannot register in the municipality.

To purchase the vehicle in Spain, you can go to the Tax Agency, located in Calle del Pino in Mazarrón and they will give you the information and manage what corresponds to the purchase of vehicles in Spain for Non-Residents.

Go to Zamorra in Mazarron they will sort it. They speak fluent English

I am sure going to the department the town hall recommended will be easy instead of paying a company to do it for you.

We have just bought a brand new Peugeot although I’m a resident they did not ask for Padron only Nie and invoice from ie Iberdrola to prove address.

Use a utility bill to prove my address.

Hi Roland, we bought our car as non residents so not on the Padron. Instead,e had to produce our house deeds. Cheers
