Hi we are buying a neptune villa on camposol and was wondering if anyone has solar panels on their villas? If so is it worth the expense? Who is best company to contact? We are also interested in the possibility of having the swimming pool heated so would the solar panels help in this matter? Or can you recommend a company to organise the heating of the pool. Thanks in advance for your replies. Lynn

Great question I've offended wondered why there aren't many solar panel on Villas in Spain and you would think using solar pool heating is the future, can't say I like the look of solar panel on house roofs in the U.K they're pretty ugly but they seem to work even in our dull climate it will be interesting to see what replies you get.

I seem to recall a few years back the Spanish government started to tax the solar panel think it was something to do with the power put back into the grid. I also believe that this has now been rescinded so hopefully it will be more advantageous. I will be keeping an eye on this subject

Hi Phil.

Yes it'll be interesting to read if I get any feedback from other owners on camposol who actually do have solar panels. We have a detached villa ourselves which is sold awaiting completion but only use a pool cover on it which does bring the temperature up a bit and did think about getting it heated so we could use it for more months. But

 decided to move instead.

All the best

Hi paul

My husband seems to recall something about taxing you for having solar panels but would need to check out if it definately been rescinded now. Hopefully will get more response on this matter soon by other owners.

It was called the Sun tax but like has been suggested it has now been rescinded. I had Solar fitted last year and the electric bills have been reduced by about 35%.  Considered using it for the pool but it wasn't economically viable. Great for the normal house usage.

Thank you Steve for your reply. Much appreciated and helpful. Do you remember the company you used for the solar panels? As its something we may think about when we move into camposol. Lynn

Sorry Steve. Forgot to ask how many panels you had installed and are they are on your roof or garden, facing the sun etc.

Hi Lynn, we used Trisolar who are based in Murcia. If you ask for Félix he is excellent but has no English.

I have 6 roof mounted panels. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Best regards Steve

Hi Steve.

Thanks for the info. Hubby is asking more questions sorry. How large are the panels? If you don't mind me asking how much was the costs? We have lived here 20 years. We have detached villa with 9 x 4 pool and our electric bills are around 100 euros per month. We do have dual tarrifs though through iberdrola. I'll note the company name though in case we go down that route. Thanks Lynn
