Hi We have booked 10 days in Camposol as We want to get a feel for the area as would like to buy there at some stage. We see that face masks are pretty much compulsory from today. With all the restrictions currently in place Is it still worth our while visiting in August or do you recommend visiting once things are more settled. Grateful for any views/advice.

Hi Diana
We bought a place on Camposol 7 years ago and we’ll be flying over in 3 weeks time on 3rd August. I understand your concerns but we have friends that are permanent residents and they say most of the shops bars and restaurants are all open and yes it is compulsory to wear a mask in shops etc but it will be announced tomorrow that we in the Uk will have the same rule introduced.
I actually believe for various reasons I won’t go into too much detail you’ll probably be safer in Spain than you would in the Uk!
Good luck
Cheers Jin

Hi Diana,
We have just got back from a visit to Camposol.
All went fine, had to wear masks in the airport & plane. You have to wear a mask in areas whilst there and carry one at all times. Other than that the restrictions, which are clear, all’s well, bars & shops open. Everyone we saw were acting sensibly and we never felt uncomfortable.
I will say the Spanish have handled things a lot better than U.K, with clear guidance and messages, no dithering or rules for us and not them, re Cummings affair.
We’re going again soon and hoping the Spanish govt continue to handle it well.
Paul

From the end of this month it will be compulsory to ware a face masks in the UK and a £100 fine if you are not wearing one (Basically) in any public place...just the same as you need a mask in Spain the fine in Spain is €100 for not wearing a mask this will eventually be the new normal all over the world until a cure is found...so I really don't know why anyone would want to cancel a holiday or not buy the place that they have been dreaming about due to this . enjoy the sun.

I would say don't cancel. Things are very different here though.
We have to now wear a mask even if social distancing can be adhered to ( as soon as we leave the house ) with the exception of on beaches and once seated in bars and restaurants and for sport eg running.
I can't get my head around why you have to wear the mask going into a bar but some bar owners are allowing people to sit at the bar not wearing a mask with no social distancing.
We haven't had to queue up outside supermarkets. All shops are open. Its no where near as busy here as it would normally be this time of the year. It can be quite unbearable wearing the mask in this heat though. Needs must though. There is no entertainment this year at the triangle on B this summer. Some bars are putting on acts but places are limited so are selling out quickly.
It wasnt too bad on our flight over.
Good luck.

I've just read the very good reply about not cancelling a holiday to Camposol.
We're also coming over soon and I just wondered if you could tell me if I need to wear a mask while out on my mountain bike as surely that would also come under a type of sport and you mention it's really quiet are you aware if the swimming pool is being used on the mazarron country club and I assume the beaches aren't packed !
Thanks for your help

Hi Jim
My husband does a 5km run each morning and doesn't wear a mask but carries it. We have seen cyclists not wearing them. Im sure these both are classed as sport. The MCC pool is open. Rumours now going around that singers have to wear them so awaiting to see if this materialises as I'm sure many acts would cancel if this is indeed the case. Beaches are not packed but not empty either. Families are being sensible on the beaches we have been to in the last week and social distancing.
