You've left it really late as the final date for having your Declaración de la Renta filed, is tomorrow. Fines may be added for returns received after the 30th June.

I realize  that,  but I was led to believe by various people,  including Carajal accountants, that as my income is not enough to be taxed on, it wasn't necessary.

Thanks for your help,  but not what I need to know right now. (That's not intended to be as sarcastic as it comes over.)

I don't know Camposol at all so haven't a clue if you have any asesores there to do the RENTA.  Mazarron must have some, do a search and ring them up or knock their doors. We went to our usual asesor in Cehegin earlier this week without an appointment and only waited a few minutes to be seen and sorted. I imagine all asesores will be busy with last minute declarations today and tomorrow.

Our income comes solely from UK pensions so it's simple to calculate. If you are the same do this:

Get your pension statements for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Calculate 25% of 2021-2022 (to cover the period January to March 2022) and 75% of 2022-2023 (to cover April to December 2022).

Get your P60s for tax year end 2022 and 2023. Again, calculate 25% of 2022 to cover the first quarter. Then 75% of the 2023 P60 to cover April to December 2022. If you are under the UK tax threshhold, you may not be the same here.

You should now have your total income and tax paid for 2022 in £s.

Write down/print off these figures. Also add other information - your full name, address, phone number, date of birth, NIE, residencia, bank account.

Usually you can choose to pay any tax owing in 2 instalments but I think it's too late for that option now. It will go from your account tomorrow (30 June).

If you go armed with all this information an asesor may well fit you in as it won't take long. Make sure you tell them it is £s. I converted ours to Euros using 1.173 (the average for last year) but our asesor said it was slightly less and recalculated it.

Hopefully you won't owe any tax at all and if you don't get it in by the end of tomorrow I doubt the Spanish Inquisition will be after you.

I didn't expect the Spanish Inqui ......... etc etc  (only Monty Python fans will understand).

Best of luck!

Try Xerxes in the port on 968 006 087. They may be able to help at this late stage. We use them for our taxes. They have Spanish, English and Dutch speakers. Good luck😇

Thanks for that. Yes, MP fan!

I have problems getting hard copies of stuff, as we don't have a postal system here and must collect from local PO which is useless. Anyway thanks for your help. It's just my state pension and my son, who believe it or not works long hours, pays all the staff taxes etc but can't afford to pay himself! Welcome to money grabbing Spain!

Go to see Helen at xerxes she will help you and advise you about paperwork. My P60 never comes in time and they accept my private pension statement from my portal on the Internet. Please don't worry. They will help you.  My husband has no income but still has to file a return. This year they used the exchange rate at the end of December which was 1.14.

They charge €75 plus iva per person.

Hi, I don't see how or why you say "Money grabbing Spain" if you don't like it why did you become an immigrant and why not move back to your country of origen if you consider Spain to expensive?

Another useful tip, if you are not already aware. You say your state pension is your only income. If you call DWP international in the UK, each a January, they will send you a statement of pension for a calendar year rather than a UK tax year. You will then have the statement in good time for your Spanish tax return. An added bonus is that your phone call also satisfies their requirement for “proof of life”, so you won’t be at risks of having your cancelled if you don’t reply to letters the say they sent, as happened in my case, however I didn’t receive the letter. If you call each year they won’t send any more letters.

Apologies if I upset you. It's just that it's been all pay out to the Spanish government and nothing coming in for all the long hours he works here. Good job I can afford it.
