Thanks very much for your response to my post, very, very helpful. Everything in spain is so tied up in rules and regulations, they seem to love it, or perhaps it just keeps people in jobs! I was thinking of a smallish venue with around 25 pegs and from what you say this would look sufficient. I have always really been a pleasure angler as I have generally fished rivers, teme, Severn, lugg, worcester stour, salwarpe etc. so match fishing has never been a major part of my sport. In the above venues if you don't pick one of  the top 3 or 4 pegs you may as well go home, so the differing rules are something I shall have to learn. I think my first port of call would be to join a club and learn the ropes. I was thinking of selling baits and terminal tackle on site as the tackle shops are all a long way off and, as they say, every little helps. I'm hoping to be out before the end of january but with the current covid rules not counting my chickens just yet. What would you suggest as stock? I'm thinking mainly commons and mirrors but possibly tench and crucians too. I've yet to find breeders in spain, in the uk there were dozens, but nothing as yet in spain.

Thanks again for your help, if anything else comes to mind please drop me a line.

Hi, I was thinking it may be complicated, but have budgeted €20,000 for legal advice and services. What businesses have you had problems establishing in Spain, any advice would be very helpful.

Thanks, Andy.

It's not actually about throwing money at something like this particularly in Spain.

It is the horrendous amount of time it takes to get anything done.

Something like this sort of project ??

Years.......

Yes I realise that, I was expecting 18months to 2 years to get up and running, we forget in the uk how easy everything is here, we must be one of the least regulated countries in the western world! I've a couple of properties in Spain and learned years ago to pay the experts. It's cheaper and easier in the long run. At least it's easier than my property development in Malta. There you just had to deal with Russian mafia!

Cheers, Andy.

Your comments have been very negative and unsupportive.

Why have you not answered the question put to you by Andyhawne?

"What businesses have you had problems establishing in Spain"

I have opened and run a few businesses over the years I have lived in Spain, with no real problems, except taking the advise of a well known lawyer and forming a S.L. company costing me over 3000 euros. when I could have traded that particular one just by being autonimo.

Forming and starting any business can be a challenge no matter what country you live in, however, common sense, knowledge and fact finding about your market contributes to success.

I would say good luck to Andy, and as it his decision what he wishes to do, I wish him every success with his idea and potential business

" Your comments have been very negative and unsupportive "

They may sound that way to some, but they are honest & straight to the point.

"What businesses have you had problems establishing in Spain"

No problems at all because I have not, & would never attempt to set up a business in Spain.

Dealing with the banal bureaucracy as a house & vehicle owner for 17 years has been enough.

Buying a house and a car are different to setting up businesses, I have found the process very easy, having owned many cars and properties in Spain after living here over the past 24 years.

As you have never set up a business here, it is rather concerning that you are actually saying this process would "take year's"?

Also that "The Spanish bureaucracy will completely kill the idea stone dead" ?

The regional government and departments in the town halls have always been very helpful to me and certainly not Banal !!

Again I wish Andy all the very best with his future project.
