Haha you're right, I did copy and paste most of it - but all from my own previous posts!!

I can't think of much more to add really, we've lived here for 13 years. I remember that what struck us most about the town when we first came was how clean it is. We stayed in a B&B here with a view to making it our base and exploring various areas in NW Murcia but within 24 hours we had fal...

...len in love with Cehegin and only looked at properties around here.

It's obviously a different lifestyle than on the coast, we didn't want to live in Expatland and as you're thinking of living here, presumably you don't either. I don't know if you are planning a visit soon - it's our Fiesta from 8th to 14th September.

I'm writing this between checking on the progress of the water. Today, we are flood irrigating our land (we have a finca with apricot trees). Not the best time of year to be stomping about in wellies. If you've ever read "Driving over Lemons" Chris describes watering his land by flood irrigating, his version is a bit more romantic, our canals are made of cement!! They won't be doing this on Camposol or any golf course urbanisation!

Best regards.

Hi Kalli

Thank you so much for your great input in Cehegin.  It has been hard to find information that is not tourist orientated.

My husband and I are seriously looking for a townhouse in Cehegin in the next couple of months (if Covid lets us travel from Ireland)!!

What I have seen so far on YouTube etc has been great and I have really fallen in love with the area.  We are planning on using the house as our 2nd base and then retire permanently.

Any advise or input is very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Karen

Hi Karen,

I can't really add much more.

If you're thinking about living in the old town, some of the old houses can be very cheap to buy but not cheap to reform - many have very thick walls. Streets are narrow, parking can be awkward in places. Cehegin has spread from the original medieval town on the hill so there are newer houses as well. There are a few British people who live in town but most live out in the country (like us).

Good luck.

Thank you much appreciated. We are travelling over in October and hoping to buy.  Exciting times for us.
