I would also think that air travel will be one of the last things to be allowed to happen.

We just heard on the news yesterday that budget airline whizz air are re-starting short haul flights from Luton Airport next week? Nowhere near us but watch this space.

I read in the news yesterday, that @ 17th June is when the likes of Jet 2, Easyjet and Ryanair are hoping to recommence @ 40% of flights.

Unfortunately Britain has never had a proper lock down. If we had, maybe we'd be a lot better off now! It was very obvious that the world was in for something extremely serious when we saw in January, the Chinese building hospitals from scratch in record time. Our government was very complacent and allowed huge gatherings to take place including letting the Spanish football fans in. Passenger flights have obviously diminished but we've had 1000's arrive every week to be let loose into the population without checks or quarantine. All they can say is they are following the science.....whatever that is! Scientists around the world can't agree, so why should ours be correct?

The CEO of Heathrow has just announced he cannot possibly keep passengers at a safe distance at his airport. The simplest thing is to close all airports to passengers until we do get the all clear. Of course it's inconvenient and air travel will never be the same again, Teruel now has over 250 aircraft and most won't leave again.

At least we have the advantage of being able to get to Spain by road when the borders do open again. Stay in whatever country you happen to be in and stay safe!

Could not agree more. U.K. politicians seen to have been more interested in personal glory than in combatting a major world wide threat, They had the  advantages of seeing what mistakes Italy and Spain had made, ignored them. Instead a demonstration by the Prime Minister of how to wash your hands to prevent catching the virus thing. A few days before he went into hospital to lay at deaths door for a few days.

Absolutely no preparations made, despite a widely attended pre pandemic conference a few years ago.

It’s not over yet, so called testing by post will not prevent the deaths yet to come. But who will shoulder any blame ?. No doubt these faceless mythical scientific experts quoted  so often so far..
Style safe, stay locked down or be sensible, Stay alive.

As in all these major problems, in the end CASH IS KING. Commerce will survive.

Good point on driving over, the airports will have real problems with social distancing but I can see driving being a possibility much sooner than the airports get properly going again

We suffer with sea-sickness so don't use the ferry and travel over with our dog (or used to....) 3 times a year through France and if you use the tunnel the only social distancing considerations will be at hotels which should be manageable...

We were due to fly on 1205. This flight has been cancelled so we rescheduled for end of June but think it is 50/50 as to whether that will work out

Got another flight booked for 0509 which personally I think is more realistic but a lot will depend on the countries like Spain that have started to ease their lockdown to see if the improved trend continues

Any sign of a second wave and then unfortunately, I think you can kiss goodbye to this year

We hope to fly out in September (to look for a villa) we will be bringing out our 3 cats we have pet passports for 2 of them so know we need to get another one but our Vets are giving us conflicting advice from what I’ve read online they said “ they need the passports plus rabies plus all the flu shots (3 over 3 months) I think they are just being greedy and want as much money as possible ! What I read was they needed Rabies in the pet passport and if flying a vet confirmed fit to fly and make sure there microchips are up to date , does that make sense to you ? Or do you know of anything else.

thankyou in advance
