We are here just now and it's very bad. Hubby decided to get our pool uncovered but it's been too cold to swim. Our pool is a mess and surrounding areas. We are going to get our pool guy to clean and cover it again. Weather has been crazy.

Yes, the calima was bad but the good news is that we have had a fair bit of rain over the past few days, some of it quite heavy, so the worst of the sand has been washed away. The bad news is that your pool will probably be full of sand, unless you have a pool cleaner who could get it cleaned and ready for your arrival in April. Generally, things just need a good hose-down now to get rid of the residue. We're due some more rain over the next few days, so we'll be leaving our mess until it's all over.

It will have sand in it, quite a bit that has to be cleaned and not through the filters. Unless you drained 25% of water out before leaving the water overflow is likely to meet you before you get to the property. Winter covers do alleviate but, to stop the cover splitting under weight of water, there are small holes in the centre, this drains water into pool, including sand, and overflow problems still exist.
