I have just returned from the Spanish Consulate in London. I had an appointment to finally hand in the many and varied papers to try and obtain my NLVisa. There was a large queue outside the Consulate but I had made an appointment and was called forward by a very helpful lady in the doorway. I waited a few minutes while a lady finished handing in her request and then moved forward to start the process myself.

The man behind the glass spoke very good English and asked if I had the forms in the required order, which I had. The first form had my Spanish address on it. The man behind the glass came from Murcia, so I was very lucky and that seemed to help. The forms were handed over one at a time and the forms that had to be translated and apostilled were checked and accepted. A couple at the next window had not had their ACRO or Medical Certificate apostilled as their Solicitor had apparently told them it wasn't needed.....it is!

The forms were put into a folder along with my passport (which they keep at this stage) and handed back to me to take to the cashier in another room. The folder is handed over there and the £525.80 taken via a credit or debit card.

15 minutes and I was back outside and contacting my Spanish Solicitor at https:/myspainvisa.com Lucia Lagunas Reyes had helped me through every stage of this process from our initial zoom meeting she had been helpful and super responsive to any questions or queries. Lucia was the difference between the forms being in order and correctly translated etc and me being held up like the poor couple at the next window.

Do your homework get the forms done, make your appointment which is far easier now as once you contact the Consulate they send details of how to make and appointment and what to send them initially.

Now I just have to wait and see if it all goes through as I hope it should.

Thank you Lucia I would recommend you to anyone looking for this type of help.

Steve.
