I posted on here a few days ago concerning my Grandaughters lost/stolen i pad. What concerns me is that the person who took this item may live amongst you and shows the calibre of some people on that estate. What low life would steal a child’s computer? I was was looking to buy on there…it seemed I dodged a bullet!

Most crime in Spain is opportunistic...its not clear it is definitely lost or stolen or been handed in..what I would say low life is a phrase that is bandied about quite a lot . 99 per cent of people would never dream of doing anything but hand this in . Kids today are ruined before their time with all sorts of essentially expensive adult items that they are too young to take responsibility for and I have seen zero evidence at all that they are learning devices more simply accessories for games and cartoons to shut them up on an adults night out in a bar when they should be in bed .

If it makes people low life's for maybe stealing this then it equally makes parents responsible for not looking after their children's expensive accessories also..get insured and take your brains on holiday .

The idea that this would put any one buying on le torre or anywhere else because this happened which seems to be your thrust is nonsense and as such I have no idea what rhe purpose of all this is other than to blame everyone else..dodged a bullet because your daughter misplaced her ipad ..

Did you report this "loss" to the local police or guardia civil ask if anyone has handed it in?

Are you just relying on social media sites that cover a much larger area where most people would have no idea of where you are talking about 🤔

If you are sure that it is in use by another person (I would not use the derogatory term you used) then again go to the police and prove this to them and see if they can help.

You maybe surprise how helpful the police and guardia are here in Spain

After further conversation within our group it would appear that the i pad was taken from under our noses and my Grandaughter thought one of our group had loaded the I pad in to the car when in fact it had already been taken. What sort of comment is it that suggests you know what my Grandaughters i pad is used for? Are you childless? Or is it that you just don’t like kids. How do you know she is spoilt. Why do you assume that the Police have not been informed? We have been back to La Torre on two occasions and the hotel too.No one has handed this in and yes it is insured but being a responsible law abiding individual I thought I would try to find it before making a claim. The insurance will not pay out if the Police have not been informed. Before commenting on something you know nothing about please be sure to engage your tiny brain and in fact mind your own business or are you one of these bored Ex Pats who is living out here on the smell of an oily rag and you like getting off on others misfortunes? And finally for the record I will not be setting foot in La Torre again because apart from the thief that lives amongst you I have spoken to others who also give it a wide berth!

It is a Shame all the people you have spoken to within your group have not been able to help you and I am sure as they are not returning to the oily rag community us immigrants belong to in your mind  as Jorge said won't be missed.

Enjoy your jewel encrusted life.

Yep, us permanent residents know how lucky we are to live here,  how lovely most Spanish people are and , normally. How helpful and courteous the police are.

For the record, over the last 20 years,  I have lost my binoculars once ( Handed in to the cafe I'd been sitting at). Lost my phone twice,  once Handed into a cafe and the second time to the Guardia Civil. Maybe I'm just lucky. Stay home and enjoy crime free UK , We will manage somehow without you !!!

Is this not a  complete over reaction?

I can understand your frustration with the loss of an expensive item but to tar the resort in the way you have suggests that everyone here is a thief. That's an outrageous  suggestion. Would you not consider that there are thieves in every country and that you have to be careful wherever you are?

You need  your grandaughter to take some responsibility for the loss too. If she is lucky enough to be given an iPad she needs to learn to take care of it and appreciate it. She should pay more attention to its safekeeping.

I find it unacceptable to assume it has been stolen without knowing for a fact that it has. And if it has it doesn't mean everyone in Spain is a thief. I have been visiting this country for more years than I care to remember and have never had anything stolen. Furthermore, people here are much more honest and respectful of other people than I find is the case in many other countries including my own.

You didn't dodge a bullet, you missed out on a wonderful opportunity by closing your mind to reality just because you are hurt and angry.
