Thank you and I feel the same way.  I'm in the process of buying a home in El Algar and was recommended to this site.  I've found it helpful but lately,  like you, I've been tempted to leave the site.

Unfortunately,  I'm finding the same issues on some of my other sites and have tempted to leave them as well.

I'm trying to stay positive and ignore them but is hard some days.

Good luck to us all!  May this be over soon!

I was also pointed to this forum as a place to find help and advice and for the most part it has lived up to expectations

However, as with all the social media sites there are a growing number of people who seek to use them in nothing but a negative way which is why I do not use any of them

Feel as though I could be missing out as it seems that Facebook, I think, is used extensively by Camposol but I just do not want to enter that dark world of abuse and negativity

Great original posting and in the main, this and any forum I am on is a very useful platform however, they all suffer from abusers from time to time and seem to have their regulars! Best to ignore them, or report if you feel that's appropriate.

A forum by nature is a place to ask and receive help, and debate topics appropriate to the forum's subject. There are areas provided within the forum to discus and debate other issues, and best if posts stay on thread. The aggressive spiral usually escalates when thrown off topic.

Maybe posters would also consider what they are asking for. For example, requesting legal information on a forum is asking for trouble. All the legal 'experts' appear and confuse the issue totally....it can then reach an abusive exchange!

Good luck to you all wherever you are....hopefully if we can get through this very surreal time, we'll soon meet our friends in the sun once more.

The whole basis of education is that there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Hi everyone, I joined this forum around 3 years ago when we were waiting for our holiday home to be ready for us. ...e join was right; it has been a very valuable source of information.

However, unfortunately it seems to have become a forum to bicker at one another and belittle people who don't share your views. I myself was on the receiving end of this maybe a year or so ago when I was asking if anyone knew the BIC code for my bank. After being made to feel like a pathetic woman, having already tried to find out the information myself, I finally did find it and was able to prove that I had been bullied by a few who didn't know the information themselves.

In these unprecedented and worrying times, shouldn't we all try and pull together and be kind and helpful to one another? If someone hears something and puts it on here to ask for verification, let's not shout them down as if they're an imbecile. There's so much false info out there that it's hard to know what's true and what isn't but it doesn't mean someone's stupid to ask.

I understand that lockdown is hard and we're in it too, even though we're not residents yet, but this forum shouldn't be used as a place to vent your frustration on other people, most of which you probably haven't even met!

So come on folks, let's try and go back to the nice forum we all signed up to, as a means of helping each other. I hope at least some of you will agree.

Happy Easter and stay safe everyone.

All the best, Helena

Completely agree , it always happens that these site seem to be taken over by people with their political view or a chip on their shoulder. This is a shame as a lot of people are just looking for good information and helpful advice .

Beautifully put, Sean41!

Thanks also to the other two recent responders. I agree with you both.

I feel exactly the same and can not believe people can be so nasty but probably not just on this forum. If you look at message sent you can report these people. I have done that.
