Hi all. We are moving to Spain on 22nd March…long process for Visas!!! We are renting for a year in a rural location and will need to hire a car until we get bank accounts etc sorted and can buy one! Lorca is the nearest large town……any suggestions?May need it to be delivered to our address.

You will get a better choice of both price and models if you rent at an airport - if so, I would recommend Centauro.

In Lorca itself there is really only DFM, Avis & Enterprise, which will all be quite expensive.

However, almost all car rental companies will rent for a maximum of 30 days, after which you need to return the vehicle to be checked, so you would need to bear this in mind. You will then have the variation of costs - all car hire is more expensive than before Covid and you will, obviously, pay a premium for rentals in June, July, August and even spikes in the periods that cover Easter, etc.

I would suggest renting a hire car for the first couple of months and then look at buying one - even if you just buy a cheap temporary runaround until you find the car you want for the long term.

Hope this helps!

Thankyou for the info. We are renting in a rural area so will need transport……was hoping I could get a rental delivered!!! Will look into your suggestions.
