We are in the process of buying at the moment and with the research we have done can concur with what has been said. Hi Darren, thanks for the message, I haven't logged on for ages, hence the delay in replying. I hope that your purchase has gone through by now. I believe that the waters in the Mar Menor are a bit black at the moment. I hope that gets dealt with pronto. We are really looking forward to visiting the area sometime next year.

Dont know if parts of the Mar Menor differ a lot from others but some up to date video clips are really bad. Unfortunately the speech is in Spanish so I can't understand it but it does look pretty grim. Aside from the damage nature wise, I would think unless action is taken tourism will be affected, which the local area depends on.

I've looked a little into it and it seems pesticides etc ending up in the water is the main cause. There are video clips where an underwater camera is used and the water is as murky as hell, poor vision. Hope there is an answer to it,it is a shame.

Hi Tony

You are actually allowed to be in Spain for a total of 180 days per year, however only 90 every 180 days on a rolling basis.

Enjoy the sun when you get here.
