Hi Chris,
When I bought our new car “0 miles”, the dealer paid the car tax for the first year. They told me that is standard over here.
Is it brand new or just new to you ?

Then the dealer will have paid the road tax for you until January 1st next year.

Remember that if you owned a car before you bought the new one that you still have to pay the car tax for the one you owned on January 1st.
