We used Randox and could not fault them

Ordered on line before we left Spain and was delivered within 48 hours. Once we took the test and dropped it off we received emails keeping us fully updated, ie parcel received by them, parcel in their test lab and finally the results. All completed in the space of about 24 hours

I've signed a petition on change.org to try and get this sorry mess stopped as it's nothing more than a money making exercise for most of these companies who are now lobbying to make these tests permanent

After looking at government list for day 2 test providers. Expert medical are no longer on there. They were the cheapest at £28.

Who is everyone now going with? Is it the next option Randox at £43???

I just picked one from the approved providers, was still quite expensive, about £80, but as a drop off wasn't near it was done by mailing the test back using a priority Royal Mail mailbox.

Agree totally! The government site is a joke, as they all are. From my experience if you select a cheap one, it's no longer cheap at the checkout! I was desperate after looking at sites for hours trying to determine the exact rules.

I settled for Eurofins in the end, £55 I think from memory. Of course I can't recommend them until I've done the test and the result is back, but the service so far is excellent. They were the only company who answered the phone and explained it all to me.

Boris certainly has a lot to answer for.

The French didn't ask for their form when I crossed the border and there wasn't a soul at the Spanish border. It seems the Brit traveller is the one Boris is after, just look at the long list of exemptions, the whole thing is a farce!

we are using Dante labs, £96 for the two of us (cheapest we could find, Randox no good for us). So far all is good, tests arrived when they said they would. We take the test tomorrow so will update when we get results.

I really don't see the point in these day 2 tests when we had to test before we flew out...

There is no point at all, other than companies (owners very suspect) making a huge profit out of 'tourists and ordinary folk'!

This virus is extremely clever to know if you're a human being on the list of exemptions.

But what can we really expect from a clown leading the circus!

I'm just returning to Spain having been in the UK for three weeks. I used www.moneysavingexpert.com

They have a COVID section on the top bar if you click it they have done all the work having looked at the best deals based on what type of test you require be it for flying or ferry travel.

You can see the costings for each recommended provider for the test you want and a link takes you to their website.

They also provide some discounts with certain suppliers.

I couldn't prove my vaccination status so booked a day 2-8 test with Testing for All posting the tests back via a Royal Mail priority mail box in the village.

Really good communication and no problems.

To return we initially booked an antigen rapid test with Chromonics and completed it the day of travel. Good communication and result almost within 5 minutes.

We then took a PCR test due to Brittany Ferries saying without our TIE card we would need a PCR as we only had the residency confirmation paperwork despite having used it to leave Spain with no passport stamps.

For this we used next day testing with Assured Testing who again were very good and informative.

Hope that helps those of you wanting reliable test providers.

Regards

I've just used Nationwide Pathology. £40, no problems and quick service. Just post in priority Royal Mail post box. Very easy

I’ve just read that on Tuesday the government are highly likely to announce the scrapping of day 2 PCR testing on return to the UK and replace with lateral flow testing which are free.  If this is true this is a huge boost to the airline and travel industry.  Fingers crossed.
