If you want to live in proper Spain old town center of Los alcázares is for you and up towards motorway, if you want a mini England Los narejos would be best

Mini England in Los Narejos?? Really? I’m the only English in my street! Mind having said that I suppose that is a bit like parts of England.

We have a house in Los Narejos where there is a higher density of English speakers. Los Alcazares town centre has experienced heavy flooding over the last few years. Remedial work has been done but it remains to be seen if it will reduce the problem. Los Narejos doesn't have that problem.
Always more expensive the closer you get to the beach. There is a group meeting most Mondays where you can ask questions and get advice and opinions. Winter is quiet but not cold although it can be cold indoors. Might be worth renting for a period before buying

I wouldn't class Los Narejos as a Mini England, walk along most of the area and I'm sure it's predominantly Spanish you will hear.

Like rotr all our neighbours in Los Narejos are Spanish, except a couple of holiday homes that Brits come to a couple of times a year. The neighbours are good, friendly and helpful, but speak very little if any English. Of course this is as it should be, it being their country.
It always disappoints me that so few non-Spanish bother to learn the language of where they have chosen to live. We knew we were going to move to Spain and went for lessons at an Instituto Cervantes for over two years to pick up a grounding, watched Spanish tv when we moved here and did our best to keep away from Brits! I am not fluent but manage with most situations except the odd one where the Spaniard simply does not try to help me understand. One of the specialists at the hospital is like that, so I take an interpreter.
If you come here and expect anyone other than waiters and barmen to speak English you are bound to be disappointed, and will not become anything other than a visitor, whatever your resident and tax status in my opinion.
