Thanks for that. How long ago did you make your appointment and how far in advance can you book appointment for? We haven't got police check yet so can't log in so can't see options. Is there a spot to change appointment time if you have to ie if docs not back in time. We have to get some from Au...

If you scroll back and read this whole string you will see my comments about booking appointments and how to ensure you get one to suit you.  My advice is collate all your information first, ensuring it’s all ready to go before making the appointment so leave the time sensitive documents till the last so that they don’t expire before you are due at the embassy.  Good luck!

Thanks Sarah, still sussing out how all these threads work. The solicitor we spoke with has just told us they are only taking bookings for student visas at the London embassy at the moment.

Hi Sully

The embassy are taking appointments for NLVs even though they are on strike (we had ours last Friday 27th) but as I said in my earlier post, they are only doing Friday mornings and you need to be on the ball to get an appointment as soon as they are released.  Getting tickets for the centre court finals at Wimbledon, Glastonbury Festival and the Rugby World Cup final was easier!!

As for sussing out the threads, just scroll to the bottom of this page and go back to page 1 and read the posts from page to page.  Rich T has also put some very valid points on so worth reading from the very beginning.  If you’re almost all ready to go you may get an appointment on or before 24th June.  I think they will probably release them tomorrow.  Good luck!

Cheers - Sara

Oh no Kim!  What a bummer!  Have you submitted your application yet?  If you get it off today they will probably be releasing appointments for Friday 24th tomorrow night (see my earlier post regarding booking an appointment at the London Consulate).  We got an e-Mail almost by return with our log in and password details but there were no appointments available until three weeks hence.  We booked our appointment on 4th May and got one on 27th.  So you might get in on the skin of your teeth…

Good luck, I’ll keep fingers and toes crossed for you.

Kim - Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
We were at the Consulate on Friday, all very efficient and the staff were really nice, but no word yet as to whether we’ve been approved or not, however it’s still early days but hoping it’ll be sometime next week. James said (see earlier post) his took about eight days.  Assuming that’s working days and not including weekend.  Not sure if they work UK bank hols either, things may be delayed with Queens Platinum Jubilee.  Sincerely hope not, really want to get back because we are in the process of buying a house.  Patience is a virtue I’m told and boy oh boy our patience has been sorely tested throughout this whole process! (So has our wallet!)🤣
Good luck!

Thank you

Almost by return.  We sent the e-Mail in the afternoon and it was in our in box by early evening.  It was very self explanatory and easy to do but it took us a while to work out why we couldn’t book the appointment there and then, that was because as I said earlier, all the appointments were taken up to three weeks in advance (27th) and they didn’t release the appointments for 27th until midnight BST on 3rd/4th May.  We stayed up to ensure we got an appointment as soon as they were released on the Tuesday night and by midday on the Wednesday they had all been snapped up.  Hope you manage to get one.
