I have a 22’ x 14’ Delta Superior static caravan based in Northampton . I wanted advice on the best way to move it to a residential park on the Costa Cálida?

1. Research the particular residential site to make sure they'll accept it and the annual rental.

2. Contact Brittany Ferries for an estimate of cost Portsmouth/Santander for caravan only.

3. Google for specialist transport to Portsmouth.

4.Google for same Santander/campsite.

It can be done because a friend of mine did it a few yrs ago, pre Brexit, but you may decide the cost makes it not worthwhile.

Good luck.

Also, remember that if this is part of your one-off permanent move to reside in Spain, you have owned the caravan for more than 6 months and you don't sell it in Spain within the first year of residency, then you will be exempt from Import Duty (and IVA if applicable).

However, if you are not a resident or otherwise don't meet this criteria, you will have to pay Import Duty.

Either way, you will need to complete the required customs declarations.

Taking into account the above and the costs referred to in Colin2017's post, you may want to check how much you could sell it for in the UK and then buy a replacement here in Spain..?

Hope this helps!

Given the extremes of temperatures in southern Spain I suggest that a static caravan should be residential specification, with the extra insulation helping you not gently boil, or indeed freeze! I would look at selling it in the UK and buying one here including siting?
