Hospital appointment
Do I need a translator for an appointment at Santa Lucia hospital for a mammogram? I'm finding translators expensive, I know a little Spanish so was thinking I could go alone, any advice please?

If your visit is just for a mammogram, then I don't think that you would need to have anything explained to you. I would just turn up at the appointed time and present yourself at the hospital, where you should be directed to the radiografía department where you will be told what to take off/put on and then have your mammogram. Some staff may have some English anyway. Good luck with that.

Generally if you take a hand written or printed note, (use Word for translatation not Google) with what information/questions you have, the Santa Lucia staff will rise to the occasion with a little English and lots of gestures, which should suffice. The more senior/younger the medical staff is, the more English they will have.
