PP, as said earlier we loved Sucina. The day after viewing houses with an estate agent there we got the bus from Santiago De La Ribera up to Balsicas and then a taxi to Sucina. After spending several hours going around the town having something to eat and meeting a few locals and expats we tried to phone our taxi driver to head back to our hotel at SDLR. Unfortunately we couldn't make contact so, there being no buses at that time of night, were stuck. We needn't have worried. An English chap we'd been speaking to left, borrowed a car and ran us home. He said he wouldn't even take payment - fortunately we were able to force him to take enough for a few glasses of wine.
That is just one example of why I don't want to be stuck up in the backwoods.
I'd spent ages looking online at Camposol, Mazarron Country Club, Sierra Golf Club, etc as all were offering nice houses at affordable prices. They offered everything we were looking for. My wife drove so we'd planned on a few local driving lessons for her before buying a car. Now that I'm on my own, transport links are vital to me and those places are simply too remote.
