Hi Kenny and Margaret

We arrived in Spain on 3rd Feb and are renting a house in Los Alcazares until May, we had a good look around the Los Urrutias area and while it is very nice and properties are a good price it is very quiet and facilities are few, it is quite a drive to decent supermarkets and shops. At the moment Los Alcazares and Los Nerejos areas are our choice as there is a nice mix of all we want here.

Good luck with your search

Clif And Nicky

Hi Clif & Nicky, thanks for your reply and info about Los Urrutias  When we come over May we are staying in Los Nerejos and plan to spend a week out of our fortnight's holiday looking at properties/areas. We hope you are successful in your property hunt and would be interested to hear how you get on. Best of luck.

Kenny & Margaret

San Javier airport closed on 14th January and Corvera (Murcia International) airport opened on 15th. It is slightly further towards Murcia City and will add about 15 minutes to your journey.

Good information on the area please link up with Murcia Today online, it helps build a picture and if on Facebook suggest Citizens Advise Spain and Expats in Spain, lots of good information.

Good Luck enjoy the joi

Los Alcazares has more to offer than Los Urrutias but you will pay more for the equivalent property.

We looked around all these areas last year and settled on El Carmoli as its a bit more upmarket than Los Urrutias and cheaper than Los Alcazares which is only 4 miles away.

Ok you need a car but I wouldn't be without one anyway and the 5 minute drive to the supermarket is worth the much better property we were able to purchase.

In addition El Carmoli is a all year round place with mostly permanent British and Spanish residents, so many areas we visit are deserted in winter.

Good luck with your search, if you need any other info. just PM me.
