We have heard snippets that we need to pay something to drive into Central Murcia.(hotel booked for August to see a concert). Does anyone know if there is a fee or can we simply drive to the hotel issue free? Thanks in advance

You may be thinking of the need to have an ECO sticker displayed, showing the environmental status of your car. Only cities with populations over 50,000 can impose this, and it is up to the individual city as to whether they do it - for example Cartagena has decided not to insist on it, but Barcelona has done. If it is active there must be signs on the main entrance roads.

You can get the windscreen sign from any Correos for €5, take your car paperwork and your ID and they will look up what category your car is and issue the relevant badge. More details if you want from the ever-useful N322 facebook pages.

Hi, or you can apply using the link below, pay 8.95€ for postage, so avoid queues etc in the Correos.

We applied, took around 5 days to arrive, and this was over the Christmas period. We drove into Murcia last night, there were many vehicles with the sticker.

We also read the info about Cartegena, but as we live here decided it wasn't worth risking meeting the one member of the Guardia Civil who was having not such a great day!!

Correos will do iron line for 5€ and guarantee 48 hours.

Last year I posted CAR EMISSIONS STICKERS for information
