Most definitely there is. We have just celebrated our first year of owning a casa in Mula and love it. There are all sorts of groups you can join. We are members of a walking group and there is an 'am dram' group too. If you would like to know more, just let me know and I will send you the details.

Hi we have been looking at buying in Mula after owning A holiday home in Los Alcázares on the mar menor for 5 years. We have found a property that we love but we are uncertain in the town. Are they welcoming of expats? We visited on a Monday and perhaps got a bad impression as most restaurants were closed. Any advice or info on how expats find the area would be appreciated. I love cycling and have cycled the Espuna and Ricote Valley many times so I know the area has a lot to offer. Thanks

Monday is the worst day to find restaurants open here in the Mula area.... unlucky!

But Wednesday onwards you will be spoilt for choice! We can recommend Antigua Venta in El Niño, El Bar del Juanjo in Puebla de Mula and Gastrobar Casino in the town hall plaza in Mula.

All three are very good.

As for cycling, you will be spoilt here.... we are on our bikes nearly every day!

We have now been in Mula for 3.5 years and love it more every day.

Mula is very different to the coastal areas, and there are very few british immigrants in the area, but still a few of us around. It helps if you can speak Spanish as most shops and restaurants do not speak English. I have been coming to this area for 16 years and have lived here permanently since Jan 2017, there are quite a few restaurants that do open on Mondays but after a busy weekend many chose to close, a similar number of different ones will close on Tuesdays. The area has a lot of very good restaurants, especially in the pedenias such as El Berro, and Baños de Mula. Mula is located on the Via Verde which extends from Murcia to Caravaca de la Cruz 63km of excellent cycling or walking.

Thanks this is really useful. We will have to try again nearer the weekend. It’s good to know that you have settled in well there. We don’t speak Spanish at present but are very keen to learn and integrate as best as we can.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. It is good to know that expats are welcomed into the community.
