Hi we are buying a property in Mula and wonder what the situation is with getting gas bottles - who to contact, how long it takes, delivery/collection, cost, how often we might need to replace (holiday home use of cooker and maybe (!) hot water). We understand the last part of the question might be difficult to answer but any help is much appreciated as we've not ever had to deal with this before 🙂

My wife and I made knee-high 11kg propane bottles (or the butane equivalent) last around 2 weeks for hot water and the hob. Others claim to have made them last a month.

Butane (butano) is gas of choice, over propane, its more than 25% more energy and is cheaper as a result for the 13.5kg bottles.

For a cooker butane normally lasts 2-4 months, hot water heating with gas would be a pain cause the consumption would be just weeks.

Repsol service stations  are major stockists, but every town will have at least one easy-to find supplier
