Hi

We returned to UK about a month ago to finalise some business and returned yesterday to our home in Mazarron.

Entry into Spain via a land border or train requires nothing for you to travel other than an essential reason ie moving to your new home.Just have your patron and residency card or if your waiting on an appointment get you solicitor to drop you an email confirming your home status.

We took the Portsmouth to Caen ferry and had both letters required for entry into France. These are obtainable from the Brittany Ferries web page but also if you just google the UK Gov web page as to travel requirements to Spain and France it's all on there with links to the relevant areas of information.

UK border force said we would have them taken from us in France.

Upon arrival we were straight thorough no papers taken from us just passport check.

We have driven the the journey twice now and at no time have we had any problems been stopped or had any paperwork checked.

We had intended to return Feb 2021 but like many others on this link thought the future is so uncertain it was better to get home here in Spain asap and then sit out the confusion that will be next year.

If you need any advise on anything just PM me and we will be happy to help where we can.

Good Luck

Thank you so much. Everyone else was so negative we were really beginning to worry. Really appreciate your help, stay safe and hope you manage to have a good Xmas.

Someone also mentioned you could well be turned back at the Spanish border if you haven’t got residency. I seem to recall a post which stated residency could be applied for at the Spanish Embassy in the U.K. You may find it beneficial to check this out and, if possible. apply through the Embassy.
