DONT use a solicitor etc, DIY, we did, you can Google NIE  form in English and readjust template whilst you fill in the form,  it's not rocket science. We also did residencia and driving licences ourselves as I refuse to pay those leeches that rip off Brits. They take advantage of the language barrier and charge stupid prices, really stupid prices.

There is also a marvellous FREE tool available which we have used a lot, ..................... Google Translate, and you can even bold a conversation using it's voice capabilities.....
