Hi,

Does anyone know the reason why so many houses are up for sale on this urb.

The prices being asked for them, is over a 100,000 euros less, than the cost of

them when they were built. I know people who paid more than 360,000 euros

for them off plan, now they are up for sale around  240,000.      Very strange.

When we were looking estate agent told us you have to rely on driving everywhere. There are no restaurant or bars nearby by or even a shop and in the winter you can get cut off as it floods easy there.  This was home espania that told us this. didn't come across anyone to ask whilst there either. Houses looked great for the price.  We didn't buy there.

It is a great place to live, ideally you need a car, but there is a local bus service which runs regularly weekdays and weekends into la and cartagena...and there are a couple of small places to eat and get drinks, in the summer season within 5 minutes walk.

It would benefit from having a local shop though!!!!

Try Aguilas. A real Spanish town, miles of beautiful beaches, a gorgeous town square surrounded by around 30 cafes and restaurants, shops galore, a great shopping plaza and, most importantly, virtually no British tourists that perpetuate the urbanisations in Southern Spain, wanting to live exactly as in the UK but with continual sunshine and after 20 years of residence still not able to speak a word of Spanish. Aguilas offers the real Spain, just 175 kms south of Alicante. Sheltered by mountains, home of Spain's finest Carnival, and because of its lack of foreign tourists the prices are all local prices, not inflated. One euro 80 cents for half a tostada, tomato, jam, coffee and juice in the Town Square. Three course lunch of the day with a drink for 6 euros 50 cents. Wonderful.
