I know what you mean, big decisions. I kind of think of it this way. Camposol got flooded by a once in 100 years event and lots of other areas such as around the Mar Menor flood pretty much every year but loads of people still buy there. Spain does flood a lot so there is always a risk in many places we may buy.
I am more concerned with the areas suffering subsidence than I am flooding on Camposol, and it is really clear once you are there where those areas are. The missus is not keen on buying something that is built in the exclusion zone just in case the decision doesn't go the way everyone hopes and we lost everything. So we will spend a bit more and buy somewhere not so obviously at risk of either flooding or subsidence off the rambla route.
