Oh dear Ruggy!  Have you asked someone to steal the Crown Jewels?  This highlights the problems you get on forums….. too many opinions that are not needed.  Your simple request for a couple of airport runs and people are putting you in jail!!!!!!!  Of course these people pick up and drop off their family and friends just as anyone would do.   Guys leave Ruggy alone his request was an innocent request , he did not deserve the backlash he has received…..

Thanks,Pete147... this backlash has made me think,... I am so looking forward to seeing out the rest of my days, with the sun on my back, ( the final entry of my bucket list!)... my wife and partner has stipulated that Camposol is nothing better than “quote.. a council estate, “.... I have disagreed and bought this property, with the view to making new friends and also to be guided by residents who have learned how to live and enjoy the Spanish sun and way of life,..... I am certainly not looking to confrontation by some people, but, rest assured, I can handle idjits, in fact, they stop the day from being boring!.. I am picking up the keys to my humble bungalow, in the first or second week in December ( completion on the 2nd) and I cannot wait to meet up with nice friends for a beer or two, ...any recommended establishment’s near sector A would be greatly appreciated,

In anticipation,regards,ru

My eldest daughter and I have just purchased an apartment on Havienda Riquelme,  we are due to complete in December too.  If I was there I wouldn’t hesitate to help you.   You’re still young and you will have many many days with the sun on your back.   Just be careful if you ask someone to put sun cream on your back as that may be illegal!!  😱. I wish you all the very best and a long happy future .

I once got to Alicante....no flipping driving license in my case! Rental car idea now kaput.

I took a bus to Murcia, (dedicated stop from the from airport at arrivals the level),  (not the main airport bus/coach area down a level) then a bus to Mazarron. Got off outside the Chemist at Camposol sector A. It only cost a few Quid!

Hope this helps

What date and time are you flying in?

I’m dropping my sister off and returning back to Camposol

You’re welcome to a lift back if times are similar

I am arriving at Alicante on the 7th, around 10am, happy to wait, or to slowly walk to a pick up, as I experience breathing problems if I have to rush, is this within your timing?... regards,

Hi, just outside Alicante airport at Costa Coffee you can catch a bus into Murcia bus station only about €7 and then catch another bus to Camposol from there. Just Google Murcia bus station and you can check out the timetables.

I have also a gentleman who says he could possibly collect me, ...awaiting a reply from him, ...if this is a representation of the Camposol spirit and kindness, my decision to purchase a property has been justified! Regards,

Hi,Keith,  thanks for your input,... I certainly didn’t set out to break the law! .....here,in blighty, I have regularly taken friends and friends of friends,to airports, ... I am just pxxxxxx off, by not being able to hire a vehicle due to my age, I drive every day here, to and from my bu...

...siness and to customers houses. Very ageist! Kind regards,

Hi, sorry I, ve nothing to suggest for your predicament but was astonished to read you can't get a hire car as you are over 70. We haven't hired for last 4 years as we bought a Spanish car to leave in Spain as the hiring for 90 days and constantly exchanging the car monthly became prohibitive. However we hired previously up to my hubby being 75 albeit there was a surcharge for age with some companies, so am shocked you cannot find a single company to hire from. We then used to travel by ferry, but with a van full of belongings but Brexit squashed that and sold it cos I refuse to be taxed at customs so now come by car and as ferry prices have rocketed, may even fly over in future. Thankfully a friend has offerred his services to collect us as car is kept in our own garage. I wish you luck in solving your dilemma, could you get a bus from airport to Torrevieja and then another bus or taxi from there maybe? Good luck. We used Record hire for over 70,s for 5yrs upto 2018 ( hubby then 75). Good luck

Regards

Pauline.
