We all look at a painting, with different views,..... I am trying to save money whilst helping out someone else.... someone who is struggling, perhaps with keeping their vehicle legal,or suffering from cash flow due to an illness, or a multitude of reasons, so, with all due respect, butt out! Kind regards,

Thanks for your advice, .... I was led to believe that Corvera airport  was the airport to use, to enable easy and short trips back and to, the uk,.... unfortunately, the cost of using this airport vastly outway regular trips,

So Alicante airport is the best but defeats the purpose of flying to and fro, reasonably cost effective, as the taxi fare compounds the price for travelling many times a year. Again thanks for your advice, I am still looking into the details and cost. Regards,...

...

You are right about the airports, Corvera is great if you are in the UK, near where a flight to Corvera leaves from, or you can plan far enough in advance to take advantage of the cheap flights some airlines offer.

There is a Facebook page called “Camposol Lift Share” where people post offering or requesting lifts.

Another option worth considering if you will be travelling to and fro several times a year, it may be worth buying a cheap runaround that you can leave here and contract with one of the parking companies, such as Plane Parking for about €300 a year. They collect your car at the airport when you are leaving Spain and return it to you at the airport when you arrive back.

It’s worth looking at the options

Good luck

Thank you for your advice, greatly appreciated, I will certainly try your suggestions, .....unfortunately, I have been subjected to a doom and gloom advisory!.... telling me what would happen if the private car crashed and I was severely injured! I have caught many taxi’s in my 70 years and never had an accident but this particular advisor seems to think it is destined!....a private lift or taxi, I don’t mind,.all I need is to get Alicante to Camposol, at a reasonable cost . Again, thanks, regards,

Good luck with your move. Don't let some of the arrogant know it all replies put you off. I believe you put your initial post on with the best intentions, and I would certainly give a lift to a neighbour to and from an airport.

...d regards,

Telling posters to 'butt out' when they are helpfully suggesting that you don't break the law is really very rude.

Hi,Keith,  thanks for your input,... I certainly didn’t set out to break the law! .....here,in blighty, I have regularly taken friends and friends of friends,to airports, ... I am just pxxxxxx off, by not being able to hire a vehicle due to my age, I drive every day here, to and from my business and to customers houses. Very ageist! Kind regards,

I know age can limit travel, car hire and travel insurance costs go astronomic above a certain age, but unless things have changed since Covid, you can hire cars but many companies will put an extra on for your age.

The remarks earlier about private 'paid' transfers are a fact of life and in my opinion best avoided. Regular privateers do risk being caught with ANPR at all airports.

(If you can afford a house you have no reason not to pay a legal licensed driver.)

Comments like this from earlier are what I'm referring to, an innocent request for help from what will be a future neighbour. Not helpful at all.

I agree lots of pompous self righteous quick to judge moral converts to doing as they are told ...I don't think you were seeking actively to flout legal taxi use ...don't assume everyone is as unhelpful...really sad key board warriors who have never done anything slightly questionable ..sad people
