Just been ripped off by Goldcar - Page 7

Never had to do that in all my many years of renting. Always returned a clean car but never went to the trouble if hoovering one out. It was never a problem but we always returned our cars in good condition anyway 

Ok guys and dolls. I hear you crystal clear. Clean your car and hover the inside. Is that not one of the services that you paid for?

How do you have time to go through this mesmerising and agonising process.  No, my holiday starts when I leave UK for Spain. No worries about car rental companies or schemers.  Remember, you are a retiree, and every penny counts.

Think about the benefits not the cost. In other words, cleaning, checking exchange rates on online, avoid being late to to return your car and so on.  These are the costs. Watch your blood pressure my friend.

I would urge anybody who is thinking about using Goldcar or any of their associated companies to do a review search on Google first.

It is most definitely a case of buyer beware.

Me too on three occasions! I keep booking different rental places but when I go to pick up the car it is always goldcar. Known as interrent, I love Spain rentals, etc.  

That means you can't escape from this company operating under pseudo names. 

To avoid these con men, wouldn't be advisable to buy your own car, insure it, and leave with airport park (for example) that will look after it for you, bring it to the airport on your return.

Someone once posted on this platform that one should consider the insurance cost, Gorta Fria, if your car should be washed away while under the care of airport parking company, etc.

Consider the costs and benefits before hiring your next ride.

Following on from complaints about goldcar. We have been using them for a little over 18 months and never had a problem, A good service actually. You must take responsibility for doing your own vehicle inspection prior to departing the compound. I had one occasion where I considered the vehicle could be declared un road worthy, I was given an immediate upgrade at no cost and no questions asked.
