Yeah we’re definitely not rushing into it. Plus I’m not allowed, otherwise we’d be living in a cave house by now 😃. Thank you 👍🏻

We are doing our homework, the thing at the minute is work for us both me not so much as I can drive but the wife may struggle. I/we wouldn’t let anyone influence our decision. That’s the next part coming out there to have a look but need to get another holiday out the way first.

Well we live on that splawling urbanisation....and we love it...we chose it for what it gives us, please don't knock it!  thousands of us have chosen to live here,  if it isn't for you then please don't comment and let people make up their own minds.

Admittedly it's not for everyone..but its suits us to a tea....thank you.

If you are applying for a visa “post Brexit” in other words you were not living in Spain before 31st December 2020, and are not seeking a family visa under the withdrawal agreement, you will need to apply from the UK. The official Spanish government website can be found at Read more...

...://www.immigrationspain.es/en/non-lucrative-residence-visa/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.immigrationspain.es/en/non-lucrative-residence-visa/

There are very specific financial requirements, and other specific requirements if you plan to work here.

If you do a Google search on NLV Spain, you will see a list of hundreds of companies offering their services to people in your situation. If you do the same search on Facebook, you will find several groups set up to also help with applications.

I can’t give specific suggestions as we emigrated under the old system.

Good luck and hope this helps

The NLV is only for people who are not working (retirees). Assuming that with a 5 year old, you will be younger and need to work, then you will need either

  • a working visa - for which you will need a firm job offer from an employer, etc. and the employer has to support your visa application.
  • an 'autonomo' visa - which is for self-employed people and you need a full business plan, plus proof of sufficient income to live off if the business doesn't make the forecasted returns.
These visas then need renewing as you continue to work, etc.

Either way, these need to be applied for in the UK.
