Just a short message regarding Corvera Airport, EASYJET has recently confirmed they will be flying in to and out of Corvera as from January 2019 along with JET2.

Others to follow.

The one needed to make it viable - at least in the short/medium term is Ryanair. I can just imagine the poker being played by Mick to get a deal....

Hope Ryanair are going there, I have flights with them to Murcia already booked for Feb so I expect them to transfer

Unless Ryan air plan to stop flights into Murcia, I don’t think Mick will have a choice...he won’t be able to land in San Javier on 15th January !

Corvera is being classed as an International airport so hopefully other airlines will take in interest in flying in, we are hoping Vueling fly Cardiff to Corvera...that will take some traffic from Bristol though...can’t see it happening.

It would be easy for Ryanair to switch to Alicante - if there is no Corvera deal.

The airlines are no doubt continuing to use San Javier as part of their booking process but sooner or later will have to

A) Communicate the change for existing bookings

B) Update their systems for future bookings

I can only assume they are awaiting on further confirmation from the Spanish authorities to make the change.

Book San Javier and you will land in Murcia “somewhere” after 14th January 2019...

I checked with EasyJet and they will not take flights to Murcia after 19/01/2019 but Corvera is not available. When I spoke directly to their customer service they simply said they cannot take any new bookings until the airport is open

Cannot find any other flights out of London to Corvera at all and so far Ryanair has not committed - but would not use them anyway.
