You have hit the nail on the head my friend. Definitely retired and looking to relax in the sun now. Have heard that there is a lot of red tape involved to bring your own car over, higher insurance with it being right hand drive etc. Hence the idea to come over get settled and then think about tr...

Much appreciate your advice, thank you.

I have a rhd car insured in Spain and the insurance is no higher than lhd car.

Some on upper C have problems that are quite major issues yes.

But other sectors have issues as well with roads not being finished no street lights leaking roofs etc. This is why you really need to do your homework, visit and get a survey done.

3/4 of Camposol has leaking roofs. The problem is, when you visit a house, you don't always see the hidden issues. We didn't and it took us a lot of money to get everything in order. The list is even too long to mention...

Interested to know how you are aware that 3/4 of properties have leaking. Agreed, that unless it is raining at time of viewing you would not ge aware but feel that is rather a random percentage to identify

Maybe we were lucky but so far after 5 years no leaks....!!

I know it from the man who repaired our roof. And during the last rain I heard many people say they had that problem. Also the electricity is often a problem. Not strong enough. Underground pipes may also be deficient, something you can't see before problems occur.

To be fair, wherever you buy a property, you still have the similar issues. Sometimes, a proper survey can't even reveal all or some issues. You just need to factor in these issues before putting your money down. There is no foolproof in life, a bit of luck is sometimes needed.

And builders, techies etc. are happy to exaggerate issues to make you feel reassured and not alone in any particular issue you face. Provides a degree of comfort plus also makes you feel like investing in what they are proposong/selling

Hi there, we have been looking at properties in sector C, my question is: what is it like living in Camposol? Initially if we do take the plunge and move there permanently, we probably wouldn't have a car. Are there local shops / markets etc. within walking distance, or transport links to the fac...

You will need transport, ok shops are within walking distance but would you want to carry a weeks grocery shopping home in the height if summer heat? Some places like Totana,Mazarron and Cartagena need visiting for various bureaucratic formalities. The doctors and pharmacie are on Sector A, even further than the shops. If you need hospital consultants, tests or surgery you will be sent to Cartagena. All require transport.
