‘We have no protection now’.......what do you mean?

Up to 31.12.2020 the British are EU citizens....as of the 1.1.2021 the British are ‘foreigners’ in the EU and as such have to live by the laws of the land, bureaucracy etc.....I believe it’s called living with the consequences of Brexit.....we knew it was coming.........

...

Agree, the lucky ones like us have dual citizenship, and remain with EU passports along with EU protection, however, if  any other EU country gives notice to leave in 2021, the EU will finish completely, they cannot sustain any more loss of contributions, and Italy has already stated they want to leave.

So hey ho, let it fall, and for one, I will laugh at Michel Barnier, who has done everything to destroy the negotiations, what do they say? ( WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND ) watch out Barnier, its all on your head.

That may be but I do know as my agent has called me that 2 similar properties to mine have sold in the last 2 weeks. Mine is on at a competitive price so not too worried. Am happy to wait. This also gives me time to see how the wind will blow, so really don't want it to sell too quickly. I'm not selling because of the situation viz a vie Brexit but because I can no longer manage the stairs and will be looking for a bungalow but whether in Spain or not.......

Yes sdb137 I will be watching closely so many other countries would love to leave the EU and are waiting to see how the UK fares. I for one think we will fare very well and can see Italy and Belgium following I think Greece too. So those unelected dictators can do one. I think each country could have a representative on a council to run a new EEC.

Bang on.

I am amazed at the power Barnier has, and how he can just wreck everything at a moments notice, he is a jumped up puppet, who likes the lime light, and has no thought for any thing.

What also amazes me is the no agreement that can be reached over the fishing rights, do they all not realise if they have no agreement, they cannot fish at all in British waters, so they get nothing, and the Royal Navy will be guarding the waters and stopping the boats from other EU fishing nations

,Boris will have no choice in stopping them fishing, or he will be destroyed as a Prime Minister, and seen by all as so weak.

sdb137....

have I read correctly....in relation to Brexit you stated ‘we have lost our protection’ and in the next breath share you have dual citizenship.....so Brexit isn’t going to have the same impact on you as others......you won’t have BoJo to protect you and instead of showing some appreciation of the protection provided by the dual citizenship you are out to get Barnier......

Yes we have dual citizenship, but have no resect for Barnier, as he is out to destroy the UK for leaving, the same as he will do to any others who want to leave.

Those with no dual citizenship will lose protection, unless the country they are in, looks after them, realising how valuable to their economy they are.

I am not alone in hating Barnier I can assure you, many realise what he is doing is, and will, cause problems, even Merkel has realised what is going on, is no good to any one, and has now come out and stated she is not on board.

Barnier is the block to a great deal which could be done, as he keeps bringing up more stumbling blocks every day to stop a deal being done, we can all see this.

No I do not like him.

Clearly sdb137 you are a conspiracy theory follower.

My sympathies for your condition.

Just to remind you that the UK voted to leave and must suffer and WILL suffer the consequences.

The EU is trying to rescue some common sense out of this banal, solely UK caused disaster.

What utter nonsense! The EU is made up of 27 states and Barnier is merely one person and cannot destroy anything on his own. This persecution complex that some people have about their precious UK being "punished" by the whole world and his brother is utterly absurd. The destruction of the UK has been self-administered, lead by the ERG and all the other investors who have huge amounts of money invested in the failure of the talks, and its current desperation to pass the blame onto others is laughable!

totally agree , how can a few rule so many? they were not elected by the people, so you get petty dictators who will do anything rather than lose what they reign over.
