Hi Steve

Try the following:

https://www.tailormadehealthcarespain.org/

I just used them and the cost was just over 1,100 euro per year.

Good luck.

At 60 years of age, with no pre-existing conditions, you should be paying around 1100 Euros/year each for a Residency-qualifying policy from DKV.

We've had a quote of €1,488pa for two of us, aged 50 & 48, with a few pre-existing conditions, from DKV. Several others on this forum had recommended this company. This quote was provided in October last year, as I wanted to get an idea of prices, so will need refreshing before we go ahead.

We got this and some other quotes via David Bloomfield at Bsure Insurance Brokers ([email protected]).

We also received some other quotes from other brokers that ranged up to €6,000 pa (!), so it's worth shopping around...

Hope this helps!

Steve

If you contact Tailor Made, they act as agent for DKV - no additional charge for the policy and you get an English rep to discuss any issues.

Cheers

You need private healthcare for the first year of residency, but after that it's not clear what impact Brexit has had.

Previously, after that first year, you could then 'buy in' to the Spanish Health System for €60 per month per person, if you were under state pension age; or if you were above state pension age, you would have a form S1 from the UK which would entitle you to free spanish healthcare.

My understanding is that remains the same for ex-pats already resident in Spain, but it's not clear if that would be the same for people becoming residents after Brexit.
