Hi all! Buenos Dias!

I am coming over to Camposol on the 5thAugust for a week. I have looked all over the  Costa and feel that Camposol has a lot to offer. I am a keen golfer and enjoy dining out (sounds like a singles introduction!) ! I am staying on Camposol, Calle Calahonda and am looking to buy on Camposol up to £90k and would appreciate any and all advice! So looking forward to it, masks packed ready !!

John

Hi John,

Welcome!

You are doing the right thing renting first, we did the same thing a couple of years ago, stayed on Camposol, looked at various places here, as well as travelling round the region. We ended up here and moved permanently just over a year ago.

As for the urbanisation, we bought in D sector, which is furthest away from the shops, bars etc, but it suits us. You definitely need transport here. From your introduction, Sectors A and B cater for your dining out, and there are a huge number of excellent restaurants within easy driving distance as well. The golf course is on Sector C. The club house there has a restaurant and regular entertainment. You don’t say if you are planning to move permanently? If you are you will need to get your skates on, to begin the residency procedure before December 31st (assuming you are a UK citizen). If it will be a holiday home, your ability to stay will be limited to 90 days in any 180 day period. It’s probably worth joining some of the Facebook pages, especially Brits in Spain, which is the UK Embassy page. They have lots of useful info, particularly if you plan to reside here. CAB Spain (citizens Advice) is another excellent page with a searchable database of documents. Locally there are several Camposol groups and security groups. Suggest you type Camposol as a search in FB and select the ones you like. Another good page is Preguntas y Mas.  If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask here or by PM. Happy to help where possible or point you in the right direction To someone who may help. One final thing is that it may be best to get some viewing appointments booked with agents before you arrive. We found Mick Yates at Luz del Sol, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He tells it as it is, no sugar coating. Most agents use right move Spain so you will find most properties on there.

Good luck with your search.

Hi,

Probably the first place to start is to check out the latest UK government advice for those planning to move to Spain and take up residency.

Here is the link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/residency-requirements-in-spain?utm_source=a30cb0d4-20ea-40c0-8f24-4da259139890&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_content=immediate

Should you decide to apply for residency, It is possible to do all the work yourself, however you may find it to be more effective to use the services of a gestor, as they know their way around the system and often are able to get appointments when individuals find it difficult. Also, the requirements tend to differ from region to region.  The important cut off date, unless anything changes before, is that, in order to have the benefits conferred by the Brexit withdrawal agreement,  you have to have commenced your application for residency by 31st December 2020. It will still be possible after that date, but the UK becomes a third country and the requirements are more stringent.

Good luck

If you like Sector D - there is a property on with Mercer's at Calle Calahonda.

We bought from Luz Del Sol - no problems with them.
