We used Doyouspain the last time we were there I personally wouldn't use them again as there insurance was very expensive, it is full insurance though so you have no worries at all, I think the one we used before was Gold cars at the airport itself and there insurance was much cheaper, if you use gold cars make sure you check the vehicle over 100% and make sure any damage is listed or else when you return the car you WILL be charged

Hi, it Depends where you are on sector D but most people are very helpful regards lifts etc, I ferried a couple for a week or so, I just let them know where I was off to and asked if they wanted a lift.

However for 6 weeks if you wished to get to know the area around Mazarron/ Murcia I would suggest car hire.

I personally used Europcar, they are straightforward with no catches and unlimited mileage, pick up the car with a full tank and return full so you don't get stitched up for fuel.

I live on sector D and happy to give you more info if you want it.

Hire a car at the airport... You can book one through ( do you Spain car hire ) do not take out the insurance they offer you...simply go on the internet and put in excess   car hire insurance for Spain ...it will cost you around 60euro for the yearly policy.. when you arrive at the airport just show them the policy ...they will then take around 1,000euro from your credit card which is fully refundable provided you don't damage the car ...if you do damage the car you simply claim the 1,000euro deposit back off the insurance policy....this is what I do good luck enjoy your holiday .

As confirmed, a car is virtually a must for sector D simply to get to the amenities on A or B but to get around in general

Certain you will enjoy Camposol  once you arrive and see what it has to offer but strongly suggest you hire a car at the airport or arrange for one beforehand - it is really a neccessity

We book through Ryanair when we make a visit to the UK as they offer “rental free if you find a cheaper deal”. Don’t know if it works in reversethough.

Hi ,I thank you very much,it looks like that is the only option. Is it best to hire through Ryanair before leaving? And to take collision damage insurance/

Hi yes if you can hire via Ryanair (go back into your booking assuming you have done it online) you can hire from there....we used this service before and found it to be very effective and easy to do....pick up /drop easy for this we used a company called Firefly........reasonable to ............hope this helps.

Hi we are Ann and Ron,

we will be arriving on the 20th on section D. We do not know the area at all. We will have no car and do not know how far it is to the shops or anything. We are com...

...ing for 6 weeks.

What is the best way to get there from Murcia airport?

Casa  Branco is the name of the villa that we have booked.

Hi Ann and Ron

I visited the area last year to check out possible retirement locations.  I was due to land early morning at San Javier airport so before I left the UK I booked a taxi transfer with Rideways online, as I assumed that there wouldn't be local buses or taxis at that time of night, they were very efficient and cost £60 to Puerto de Mazarron - so probably a little extra to go on to Camposol.

Depending on what you plan to do whilst on Camposol you could give the buses a try.  The stop on Camposol is near the pharmacy in the commercial area about a 50/60 minute walk from sector D (it will be hot walking and depends on the individual) but the bus will take you to Puerto de Mazarron in about 20/30 minutes and from there you can get buses to many local villages/towns even further afield to Murcia City.

The general advice though is that if you live on Camposol you will need a car to get about but the above could be an option if you really do not want to hire a car for your visit

I'm coming again in September for two weeks to check out logistics of living on Camposol without a car - just walking, using buses and hopefully I'll be able to hire a bicycle.

Enjoy your visit

Cheers

Maggie

It's three and a half miles from D to the shops on B ...too hot to walk with shopping...
