Time here is not the only factor as HMRC will regard you as UK tax-resident if your main residence and source of income is in the UK, with the Spanish taxman taking the same stance from the other angle, so if your family lives in Spain and your main residence is here they will gave a case for wanting tax on your worldwide earnings.
