Hello all.

Question about the IBI.

Do we have to go through our lawyer to pay our taxes?

We pay them 130 Euros for this unique service for an IBI of 226 euros.

For water and electricity, this is done automatically by transfer to our account and without problems.

Thank you for your feedback

Regards Regis

No you don't have to go through your lawyer to pay your IBI tax.

Ask them to set up an annual direct debit at your bank for you.

Or do it yourself.

The 130 euro could be an annual retainer for dealing with your personal tax though.

You need to ask them.

Just pay it yourself online, instructions are on the IBI bill.

You can wait for the bill and pay at an ATM if you are here when the bills are sent out.   Or set up a DD then it’s fine and dusted.

Hello all

Another question.

Do we have to go through our lawyer? And what are the different taxes to pay on Spanish territory as a non-resident.

Iberdrola and Aqualia are done by automatic transfer.

Sincerely

Regis

You also need to pay None residents tax, if you have sorted out your IBI bill (Spanish Council Tax) as per another question, you can find the none residents tax answer on your IBI bill, that is the (Cadastral value) of your home,  in order to work out your none residents tax,  it's taken me years to find that answer,  I personally use a firm called

Spanish Tax Forms

They will need a copy of the IBI document, to work out your none residents tax and will also pay it for you, they only charge 30 euros for this service plus the actual amount of the bill for them to pay it and send you a copy and a receipt,  hope this helps as I was confused for years and didn't realize the difference between Spanish council tax and none residents tax,  I have it sorted now though

Spanish Council Tax is paid by direct debit

None Residents Tax is paid by

Spanish Tax Forms  dot co dot uk

Tel 0800 0845210

They're very helpful
