I live in Jumilla with my Spanish wife, you would not believe the verbal abuse I received when walking the dog this morning, initially from one irate fat Spaniard who was quickly joined by wife and two neighbours....I understand enough Spanish to know it was very insulting and racist..... a Spanish woman walked by with her dog and when I asked if they were going to challenged her I just got the usual arms flailing in the air. I always clean up the pavements if he spoils them but they were more irate that he has to pee!!!! Lovely people!!!

I agree entirely

What is wrong with these people. We ALWAYS clean up after our dog and yet you see the locals let their dogs do no 2s and just walk on!!

All the Brits living out here have put millions of Euros in the Spanish coffers

It really p. sses me of too

We have only been here three weeks, moved from Condado de Alhama urbanization, a very dangerous site to live on, moving mainly because my wife speaks no English and hardly ever went out as all bars, clubs etc were English speaking only. Thought moving to a tranquil Spanish town and been received well apart from today. Totally agree with you when you mention the lack of 'cleaning up' 'don't do' as on numerous occasions have to clean off the soles of my shoes....pointed this out to the aggressor but just wasn't interested.....suppose there has to be dog haters in every town!!

I say Condado was a dangerous urbanization....it's sad to say that the Brit reputation for being piss heads exists in abundance there. All dogs must be kept on leads when out, I was walking our Yorkie one night when it was attacked by a very large dog, it's owner had just let it out of his car and he was sorting his shopping, three times I asked him to control his dog, after the third time I bent down to pick up my dog as he was being attacked again and while I was bent over the owner bottled me in the forehead, found unconscious hold my dog, covered in blood, 20 minutes later, sufferred 15 stitches and a broken rib where he kicked me. Went to court, no witnesses so judge just threw it out. Turns out the courts and Guardia Civil in Alhama have little time for the Expats as "they're usually pissed!!!"....sadly about right on that site!!! Perhaps better luck here....as long  as they don't prove too racist!!!!
