Based on the "new rule" of having a PCR test to fly back from Spain to the UK !

Does anybody know if you have a PCR test BEFORE you fly back to the UK or when you arrive there ??????????

Also if before as in here in Spain.  Does anyone know where they do them ( I'm in the Orihuela Costa area )

Thank you very much in advance for any insight on this ???

Hi, OK, so we are in the UK flying out tomorrow to Spain for one week. As yet, they've not announced the date it's effective from but I suspect from 4am this Sunday. I have to give credit, however, for the instruction to self isolate until you get the result which has never happened before.  I think it means that you have to be tested on return by one of those still on the gov.co.uk website as it's more money for those who've been backhanded.... 😂

Thank you

I was wondering do I have to book the test now and therefore get a "code" to put on the locator form ?    like you used to do with the antigen test ???    Basically was trying to find out if you get a code for the PCR test ?

Hi, yes, I would suspect so on the basis that they are unable / not competente enough to be able to change the system so quickly. I'm going to wait until I'm about to leave Spain (in a week or so) to see how the land lies but fully expect to have to do exactly what used to happen the old way.

How I understand the situation:

All have to have a PCR test and in quarantine up to the result is OK

The way I am reading it is if you are double vaccinated just need locator form and pre booked 2 day lateral flow test as normal but only difference is you need to isolate until you receive the negative result so do the test as soon as you arrive.

Thank you.    I believe now you have to book a "PCR" rest as you did with the antigen and get a code for the PCR test for your locator form ???

No. You now need to have the PCR test. I am due to fly to Spain on Friday for a week and have purchased my 2 day lateral flow test kits for use on my return. Unfortunately now I may as well throw them in the bin, as I now have to order 2 PCR tests
