How do i obtain an NIE

Hi, in the first instance look at the UK gov website ' moving & living in Spain'.

There it will have links to all the information you need to move over here, how to get an nie, residency requirements, brexit - everything.

Wish that site was as available when we moved.

A tip, only take professional advice, not hearsay from ' cafe- bar lawyers'.

My friend took advice from the local know-all in the English Bar 8 years ago who said he was only renting and did not need residency.

That's an example of how wrong one can be.

Then residency was easy then, now there is no chance he can qualify, insufficient financial and medical means.

Certainly ask for recommendations of an English speaking 'gestora' - legal adviser, nearest to where you plan to move.

Me and my wife have just recently purchased a property in Fortuna. We use NCS lawyers who arranged NEI and bank account etc.

I was recommended them and would use again. They speak English.
