Hi Betsy
This seems very cheap compared to what I have been quoted. Is your cover with No Copago? (no excess as that is what is required for resedencia)
Thanks

We took residency out last year and this is what we needed to get it passed... We have the standard package, no excess. You purchase a book of vouchers about 6 per person for 12 euros... So then you take one of the vouchers every time you see the doctor... Or pay a visit to the hospital... It's very simple and you can purchase more if required... No problems... I am thinking of taking the next one up because this includes the well women clinic (smears, mammograms, bone density etc) it's well worth it..

Be careful - you would be living off income generated outside Spain, plus you would have to declare the value of all your assets worldwide and pay tax on them as well as Spanish income tax. If your assets (and it does not take many properties to reach this) are worth over 700k Euros (I think the ...

Entirely agree with Peter when you become resident you will find that the Spanish tax you for everything and I know some will come on here with their experience but I can assure you you are taxed on every asset you have anywhere and remember as time goes on they know more and more about you so little chance of hiding

If you have a teachers pension and making money on property in the uk you are taxed in the uk. If I moved to Spain would I still continue to pay tax in UK where the money is earned.

This link appears to have gone off track, tax was not mentioned in the original question! It was about health insurance only... So if you have taxes to hide then it is wise to stay quiet...

The Spanish "system" has been put in place by successive elected Spanish governments.
It is not unfair.
Many Brits (and maybe others) don't do their homework before committing to a life in Spain, and then moan when reality hits them.
The UK applies some similar tax liabilities on the worldwide assets and income of resident foreigners.
