As far as I am aware if you boil the water it will be safe to drink.

But don't take my word for that do your own research !!

The only other suggestion I can think of is to purchase a deposito (water tank) and have it filled by a water tanker. There are many rural houses in Spain where this is the only way they can have a water supply.

Best of luck to you.

We have a water tank, as our property is out in the countryside. It holds 12,000 litres, which costs us 120 euros to fill by tanker and the previous owners said this lasts about 2 months when they were living here full-time - so 720 euros per year. The tank was already in place, so I can't help with the potential cost of installation.

The water is sold as 'potable', so should be ok for cooking & drinking. However, as we don't live there full-time and the water is sitting in the tank for months (albeit runs through a filtration system before use), we still use bottled water for cooking, drinking, etc.

However, the large 5 / 6 / 8 litre bottles of mineral water in most supermarkets are priced at between 1 & 2 euros, which shouldn't add much to your weekly budget for the assurance of using clean drinking water.

Hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for all this information.  We have an appointment with Sercomosa in Molina to discuss what we can do.  Untill we have a solution will keep on with buying 8ltrs bottles mineral water for our cooking needs. Thank you for your help.
