Hi, Where can I buy a pay as you go sim in Fuente Alamo? I looking for one that holds the credit indefinitely, not a 30 day credit? Thanks

Online. I've had my credit with Nobel app for years. I use it to make calls abroad at a very low rate. I never lose my balance. It beats having to pay certain amount every month that doesn't carry over if not used. There are more companies online but this one I've had for years so I am sticking with it. I know many aren't happy with them but oh well.... I don't know if this is what you need. I am assuming you already have a SIM? Because SIMS don't have to change unless you want a different phone number? www.nobelcallingcards.com or Google Nobel calling cards
I,ve had a "hits mobile" sim for 10+yrs, before Uk gave free roaming. Buy it online, post out, cheap rates and 2€ yr keeps your number and credit. Also has an auto top up facility if credit goes below 5€. Works on Vodafone network. Google website, available in english and app and customer service too.
Regards
Pauline.

Thank you for your reply. My problem is my bank is telling me I need a Spanish mobile number before they can activate my new debit card. We were with Banco Popular for several years, but now it’s been taken over by Santander, so they have set up a new account number and cards. They say they can’t activate the cards until I supply them with a Spanish phone number, which will enable me to make transactions online as well. I probably won’t use the phone much as we are only in Spain a few times a year at our holiday home.
I have an unlocked phone, so need to know where I can get a Spanish Sim and put £10 on it, and the credit will stay there indefinitely, not vanish after 30 days or whatever!
I was hoping someone around Fuente Álamo would know a shop in the town?
Cheers,

Only takes a few days to get a hits sim posted out. Apply online or see if website tells you local stockist.

I have a Spanish Cajamar Wefferent account & my UK mobile number works.
Are you sure that your UK mobile number will not work ??
It's not a case of the Spanish trying to keep everything 'in house' is it ??

I got you now. Yes it's a pain. I got tired paying 5 euros every month just to mantain non - rollover data in my Spanish telephone number. So I've signed a contract with a local company. There aren't any SIM like the one you want. I think since you're not in Spain for too long you should continue with pay as you go and buy data online. 5 euros a month suffice to please your Bank. Recharge.com reminds you every month when you're due. They charge a little fee. I don't have a car so I do most everything online except when I have to go to town then I recharge in person.
Best wishes

Hi Roland,
so pleased you changed to Cajamar, I still keep recommending them to everyone, however when I did our account the agent took my spanish number for both of us as said it needed to be spanish, so I,ll email them to get Allans changed to his Uk number if they,ve accepted yours.

Hi Pauline
When I opened my account in the branch the guy entered my UK mobile number on my account.
Several authorisation texts were sent to my phone there and then.
So it is definitely accepted & definitely works.
There is an option online to change your phone number but you need to use an ATM in Spain.

I,ll look into it then, thanks. Btw have they done your non resident certificate for tax as we,ve now had our account nearly 18months and they havent done it yet. Sabadell used to do it every 2 years. I,ve emailed them cos I dont want the taxman thinking we,re residents.
