Hi there

We have recently purchased a property on Hacienda del Alamo and wondered if there is any public transport available from the nearest town of Fuente Alamo to anywhere ? Or what sort of prices are taxis to local areas if we do not always have a hire car ?

Many thanks

Hi and welcome  to Spain and the forum

I am sorry to say this is the type of information you should have found out before committing to a purchase.

I think you will find you will always need a car as public transport is virtually non existent in Hacienda del Alamo.

Unfortunately many people buy properties and have not done their homework. I used to do inspection trips in the late 90 early 2000s when there was a property boom, many people would come with a dream of buying in a certain place, which always sounded good, however before I showed anyone a property I would confirm their needs on the firs/second day of the visit ten show the the areas around where they were looking the amenities such as restaurants, medical centres , pharmacies, beaches, and of course any available transportation.

I remember 1 couple arrived on a Tuesday morning and told me exactly what they wanted and where I did not show them the properties 2  until the Sunday ensuring that they were happy that there investment would be what they required and not just a dream.

I hope you can sort out some transport without always hiring a car of course the other option is to buy a small run around and leave here in Spain

Hi there

Thanks for your information, we understood we would need a hire car for getting around but we just wondered if there were any other options.
