Going to give these deterrents and bite remedies ago, thank you for suggestions. I keep trying different things, some swear blind lemon works but I haven’t found it so.

I have found the same Ginger. I can spray myself with lemon spray (and I’ve tried numerous different kinds) and it doesn’t make any difference. If anything it’s like it attracts them! Perhaps I’ll make a dress out of lemon peel. ...

Seems to be what works for one person doesn't work for another.

Avon Skin So Soft is often recommend but it does not work for me.

I have read that Johnson’s Creamy Baby Oil works, which would kill two birds etc ... so am going to try that if I can find any!

....not taking the p*** or anything but heres my 2p worth. Skin so Soft is was a deterrent and significantly reduced number  of bites. Put it on am and a couple of times in evening. My most effective treatment  is the back of a HOT tea spoon. Discovered by accident  sitting at a Chiringuito and out of pure desperation put spoon from hot coffee cup on bite. I get 5-9 hrs complete relief and while it comes back- not all the time- the mad itch is gone. I spend May and September  in Lo Pagan for the last 12 yrs and it is a cast iron success for me. I have also heard that Hemorrhoid  Cream is very effective  but have not had opportunity  to try it. If anyone does try it let me know please.

I tried the hot spoon method and it worked but got to be careful you don't have it too hot!

I found that using a hot tea bag is just as good and you can control how hot it needs to be when applying to the bite. I always put a used bag aside and reuse it for this purpose.

My balcony ceiling is covered in the little blighters in the morning so I go a hunting with my electric tennis racket zapper for a bit of payback lol.
