Looking for some advice on how to stop numerous birds landing on our roof, leaving the inevitable 'mess' on tiles and patio area below.

We already have a dummy owl, but that hasn't stopped the accumulation of birds I'm afraid. Getting to the point we have to spend at least an hour every day cleaning up after them!

Any help/advice appreciated.

You might need a dummy eagle!

In the serious note have been in one of hardware shops and saw the bird spikes. They're easy to fix and not very expensive. Another thing I would check is there some cavities where small birds making their nests? Otherwise what else attracting them on your roof?

Thanks Dangerous.

Got no idea why they seem to prefer our roof. (no nests there either)

I've tried a few hardware shops and none of them had the spikes in stock. Guess I'll have to keep on searching.

What birds are they ??

Pigeons, doves, starlings, sparrows ??

If you don't know what they are post a picture.

Look up "bird spikes" on Amazon.es. shoes range of types, metal and plastic.

I saw ones in Mazzaron last week, quite away from you though.

Also the neighbour got some plastic scarer, it's like metre or so plastic ribbons on the pole guessing they trying to scare the seagulls away  from the roof terrace.

Thanks Phil - I had been looking for Bird 'Scarers', rather than 'Spikes'. Have now ordered.

Cheers

We straightened out a wire coathanger, made a hook on the end and hung some sparkly things from a Chinese shop on it, then fixed it to the roof. The birds did not like this and have kept clear ever since.

Get a cat! (Sorry - couldn’t resist it.)

You can’t beat a length of string with a row of old CDs along it 🤗.
